Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Implants
Prosthodontics in Houston, Texas
Prior to your procedure, we will meet with you to conduct an examination and discuss a line of treatment. We want you to be informed throughout the process and to help educate you before you make any decisions. Some of the common questions that we are frequently asked can be found below:
What is a prosthodontist?
This is an individual who first receives training in general dentistry, but then receives two additional years of training in facial structures and replacing missing teeth. Our own Dr. Gittleman has more than 30 years of experience and he earned his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania prior to studying prosthodontics at the University of Texas.
What is a dental implant?
Dental implants are a great solution if you are missing teeth. During the procedure, a small post will be placed into the jaw bone and a denture, crown, or bridge can be attached to it. It allows for a strong support and a natural-looking replacement option. These implants provide the functionality of your own teeth and they may be able to last your entire life.
What are my options to replace missing teeth?
With the advances in technology and the innovative services of our office, we are able to provide a number of options to replace your teeth. These include dentures, crowns, dental implants, veneers, and bridges, and we will assess you personally to determine the right fit.
